Project Launch : Jessica Connery Photography

I'm returning from a little bit of an unexpected blogging hiatus with several exciting projects to share. To start out a couple of Mondays of launches I'm super stoked to have launched a project last month that I kinda feel like I've been working on for years.

Jessica Connery first hired me almost 4 years ago to design a logo for her photography business. We have kept in touch a bit over the years, and then we jumped back in when Jessica signed up for a 3 in 30 session in February.

During our mini consulting session Jessica filled me in on her big move, her growing business, and her desires to grow bigger. She knew that it was time for an image upgrade, in both branding and website, so that she could position herself in her competitive market of wedding and senior photography.

Shortly after I booked Jessica up for an overhaul project, with a plan in mind to give her the image and functionality she needed to rock her business (and her growth goals) out.

Here is what we did for Jessica:

  • Brand design and development
  • Informational website design, complete with client area and portfolio
  • Blog design
  • Email marketing design
  • Search engine optimization
  • Social platform design
  • Print design

Now that it's all ready and launched, I have to admit that I am in love with this project. And I will also admit that I stare at this website quite often, and it's now front-and-center in my "Working with Indie Shopography" sales PDF. It's my new favorite.

Working with Jess again was icing on the cake. Here's what she had to say about working with me:

I know I've already said it in some of our skype calls but I'm so unbelievably thrilled with the outcome of my branding and website design. You put things together for me that suit me to a T and I would NEVER have been able to pinpoint them before you showed the design to me. I have cried with so many different emotions after releasing the site: excitement, relief (that I loved it, that it was over), despair that I am done this process and want to do it again!, but most of all, I cried because I feel like a part of me has now been defined in a creative way and published for the world to see. I am so proud to share my work on this site and I feel like it has pushed me to the next level in the success of my business.

Besides how I feel about my site I want to write about how I feel having worked with you. As you know I was extremely anxious and tight fisted with my business budget and was concerned to invest the hefty price that comes along with brand and web design. You made the decision easy after we talked during the 3 in 30 consultation. Well, as easy as it could be. And you made sure I didn't regret the decision once. You were thorough with your interviews and confident in the choices you made for me. You reinforced my decision to hire you along every step of the process. Basically, this was the easiest hard work I've ever done. By that I mean that re-branding a business and building a new site is a tremendous amount of work. Tons of decisions must be made, content has to be provided, and it can be exhausting. Working with you however was no where near exhausting! It was fun, creative, inspiring, and simple.

I don't know how else to put it. I love my website. I love my blog. I tell everyone who will listen about it and I am digging through old work to post just so I can keep watching my site grow!

Thank you. For everything.

I really cannot express how pleased I am with the outcome of this project. Creating ongoing, supportive relationships with my clients makes me so proud of the work that I do, and the outcome (these killer designs and launches) is a product of the hard work that we both put into the businesses that they're for.

Best of luck, Jessica. Cheers!
