Doing web design for interior designers is always a fun kind of challenge. It's about portraying individual style and positioning my client so they can sell themselves to their clients. It's a fun thing to balance.
Kathryn's project began with just web and blog design, but backtracked shortly into the project to include branding as well. This gave us a fresh perspective, and landed her positioning firmly in the place of being traditional, but progressive.
Her style is one of my favorites that I've worked with, and it created a project that ended with me wanting to fly her down to design my house. And that is how I always know we've done a job well done.

When our friend Arron began moving forward with opening a brewery, we were pretty excited to see craft beer coming to the Shoals, and even more excited when he asked me to design his branding and help out with his strategy.
We began with visual branding and logo design, a strong brand story and tagline, and moved forward with expanding his brand to business cards, signage, tshirts, and more. Read about how we created the BBC signage >>

April and I had known each other in the blogosphere for a couple of years when she contacted me to develop her project with her biz partner, Mayi. It was a FUN project, with a launch that rocked all our socks off. read more >>

"I thought we'd never find the 'right' person to help us with this project. We talked to some web developers that just didn't get our vision. Then, we thought of contacting Emily. Mayi didn't know Emily yet, but I assured her that she'd like her.
We set up a Skype date for the three of us. An hour before, my husband got into a car accident, so Mayi had to take over the meeting. I received an email minutes after she got done chatting with Emily that detailed how much she loved her and how she completely understood what we needed from a web developer. That's when we made the decision to hire Emily--no matter the cost.
The experience of working with her changed my outlook on what the relationship between the developer and entrepreneur could be. Emily answered all of our questions promptly and politely, never making us feel dumb for not understanding part of the technical language. She even hopped on Skype with us on more than one occasion to explain things we weren't understanding via email.
The most important thing about Emily is that she wants YOU to SUCCEED. And, working with a web developer who wants her clients to do well makes you feel cared for, understood and respected.

Lauren Liess first became a client of mine in 2010 when I designed her online shop for Pure Style Home. Over the past few years I have worked with Lauren multiple times to update that shop and her blog, making her one of my coveted long-term, homegirl clients.
Then, in early 2013 Lauren came back wanting to take her online empire and consolidate it into a single online presence. We took her blog, her services website, and her online shop and brought them all together to live under one site, giving Lauren the consolidated presence her business needed.

Starting your own business is never easy. It poses a host of
difficulties; honing your skills, building clientele, knowing which
projects to take on and which ones to decline, pricing, inventory,
labor, finding your target market, the list goes on.
When you have limited time, and resources it's very easy to make concessions, and not always wise ones. One of the aspects that I was sure I couldn't make concessions in building a brand image. Being a designer, I had a pretty clear image in my mind of what I wanted and also what I didn't want. After seeing some of Emily's previous work I knew that I could entrust her with bringing that vision to fruition. In just a couple of brief meetings I felt that we saw eye to eye and that she would be able to produce a branding structure that would be suitable for my new (ad)venture; let me tell you, she really knocked it out of the park!
I couldn't have been more pleased with the results, and I believe that I now have a realized brand that is representative of my style today and that will also give me the ability to grow into the future.

The finished design is, of course, beautiful. The best part of working with you was the process. I felt like you always knew the right questions to ask and had a very clear idea of the way to get where I wanted to go. Even when I didn't know for myself. Having a project timeline and to-do for each of us was really helpful. Knowing the steps helped me to stay focused when it all felt overwhelming.
