My Braid Job

If you're a regular around these parts, whether these parts be Indie Shopography or Indie Spaces, you know I'm a fan of those Braid ladies. I have worked very closely with Tara and Kathleen for over a year now (wow!) on several projects, from a workshop, to my branding, to their ECourse website development.

We're tight, you might say. Sometimes we even just chat to chat. About life things, and such. We're friends.

About a month ago we took our work relationship to a whole new level when they asked me to become an official part of their team as the manager of their ECourses. Like, emails to students come from me, as the hand-holder and taker-carer of all things ECourse, and soon-to-be ESales.

When Kathleen first presented me with this opportunity I have to admit that my heart stopped and I kind of couldn't breathe for a second or two. But, we were video chatting, so I had to hide the fear from her. It was hard.

For over three years I've only worked for others on short-term contracts. I was being asked to make my first long-term commitment that I've made in years. My first reaction was to choke.

But, of course I agreed, because that's what you do when you believe in something. When you want to be a part of something. When you want to be a good helper, businesswoman, and friend. When you really do want to do something, you just do it.

Apart from that split-second gut reaction, I knew I was in. In for the long haul. Because watching these women (and all my women) succeed is what I live for. And if I can be a part of that, then – hell – count me in.

If you want to see what it is that I'm so excited about when it comes these Braid ECourses, check them out for yourself. SHAPE UP YOUR CONTENT: Tame Your Ideas & Tell People How to Buy You is now open for registration.
